Funding Opportunities

As part of the return and reintegration counseling, additional financial assistance may be provided, depending on the individual’s situation. The goal of these support services is to ease the transition after return, enable a stable new start, and promote sustainable career prospects in the country of origin.

Individual Support for a Fresh Start with Prospects

The grants are designed to be flexible and are based on the specific needs of the women as well as SOLWODI’s internal spending guidelines. They are always reviewed on a case-by-case basis and can cover various areas of life—from initial stabilization after return to professional and social reintegration.

• Grants for Travel and Shipping Costs

• Support During Reorientation: For the first few months after their return, women can receive financial assistance to ensure their financial security while they reorient themselves.

• Education and Training: Financial assistance may be granted for a limited period to help women obtain vocational or academic qualifications.

This includes, among other things, course fees, teaching materials, and monthly living allowances. Funding is available for both initial training and refresher courses. In special cases, funding may also be provided for high school diplomas.

• Integration Grant: To facilitate (re)integration into the labor market in the country of origin, grants may be provided for internships or jobs.

• Support for Starting a Business: Women who wish to become self-employed—for example, as hairdressers, cosmetologists, seamstresses, retailers, in the restaurant industry, or in agriculture—may receive individually tailored grants.

• Temporary Subsidies for Rent and Housing Costs: Upon presentation of a lease agreement, rent subsidies and coverage of housing costs may be approved for a limited period.
