Consulting and Support

SOLWODI’s Return and Reintegration Project supports women who are considering returning to their country of origin or who are required to do so. Many of those affected face complex personal, legal, and social challenges.

Our work focuses on providing safe, confidential, and trauma-sensitive counseling that is consistently tailored to each woman’s individual life situation. The goal is to work together to develop realistic and sustainable prospects for the future.

We have a multilingual team and bring in interpreters as needed.

In addition to return and reintegration counseling, we also offer guidance on future prospects for women with uncertain immigration status. This counseling is provided independently of any plans for return and helps clarify and develop individual options for the future.

Our support includes:

• Risk and safety assessments

• Clarification of legal, health, and social issues

• Guidance on life and future prospects in the country of origin

• Support with professional reintegration. This includes:

  • Starting a Business

  • Training and Continuing Education

  • Onboarding as an Employee

Consultation Process

Following a non-binding initial consultation, a confidential, case-specific consultation will take place if you are interested in proceeding.

This includes:

• Analysis of the individual’s personal situation

• Psychosocial counseling and support

• Development of individual future prospects (including coaching for strategic planning, if necessary)

• Planning Possible Steps in the Context of Return and Reintegration

• Review of Funding Opportunities

• if necessary, preparation for further support measures

   

Subsequently—when appropriate—a suitable partner organization in the country of origin is brought on board. This organization works with the women on the ground, assists with the implementation of the measures, and provides counseling and monitors the funding. SOLWODI remains in close, ongoing contact with the women and the partner organizations throughout this process.
