Project description

The SIS-HUBS project – Sorority, Integration and Support for women and girls through community-based programmes – is set to run until August 2027 and is funded by the EU's AMIF programme. SIS-HUBS promotes the social integration of women and girls who are affected by or at risk of human trafficking (THB) or gender-based violence (GBV). The focus is on third-country nationals, whose participation in social life is to be strengthened. At the same time, the project targets professionals working with these target groups and supports them through training and further education in an intersectional approach that takes into account that people experience different forms of discrimination and disadvantage due to various factors such as gender, origin, age, or social situation. This approach is important in order to tailor measures and support to the complex realities of the lives of those affected.

The project is being implemented in Italy, Germany, Greece, Bulgaria, and Slovenia. It is coordinated by CESIE (Italy) in collaboration with SOLWODI Deutschland e.V., KMOP (Greece), Centro PENC (Italy), ZRS Koper (Slovenia), and the ANIMUS Association Foundation (Bulgaria).

Together, the partner organizations aim to reach around 250 affected individuals, train 50 women as community leaders, and raise awareness among more than 5,000 people through educational campaigns.

Project Activities

• Sisterhood, integration, and support for women and girls through community-based programs,

• mapping local services,

• training professionals using an intersectional approach,

• conducting informational events,

• providing training programs for women on human trafficking (HT) and gender-based violence (GBV),

• establishing community centers,

• implementing mentoring programs,

• and Launching awareness campaigns. 

Target Group

The project focuses on the social integration of women and girls who are victims/survivors of trafficking in persons (VoTs) or at risk of becoming victims. It is aimed in particular at women and girls from third countries who are VoTs, as well as at multisectoral professionals who work with them.

Materials

• This map helps women with migrant backgrounds identify relevant services available at local and regional levels in Italy, Bulgaria, Germany, Slovenia, and Greece. The map includes both institutional and grassroots services operating across key sectors such as healthcare, education, legal assistance, and social support.
